Bass Studio Architects provided full service architecture and interior planning for the 4,000 square foot adaptive reuse and renovation of the downtown Columbus building.
BSA was tasked with creating a design for an extended family: the first floor is a discreet residence with the second floor and attic forming the second family unit; The basement is common space for both families.
Built in 1920, the building’s history includes medical offices, political offices, a fire at mid century and an origin as a residential mansion.
The project required gutting the existing interior to allow for the analysis of the modified interior, fire damage and an a structural analysis of the facades.
